It’s no question that plant-based inspired diets full of whole foods that are rich in nutrients are on the rise and trending more than ever as we enter 2020, and we are here for it! You’ve seen them trending in recent years - endless varieties of insta-worthy food bowls including buddha, oatmeal, and acai bowls, nourishing veggie and fruit packed smoothies, non-dairy alternatives popping up on the shelves at local grocery stores, plant based protein packed pastas, and instagram-worthy dishes where vegetables are the culinary star have become all the rave.

Seeking whole food and plant-based options is delicious enough, but incase you needed another reason to enjoy it, the health benefits are plentiful. As described by Healthine, eating a diet primarily made up of unprocessed, whole foods, with little to no animal products has huge health benefits. Luckily, in a bustling city full of endless amounts of restaurants and food halls to explore, eating mindfully and healthy is becoming more approachable and realistic with the rise of plant-based menus and restaurants.

Whether you’re simply looking for an easier way to incorporate more veggies and fresh foods into your diet, or you’re dedicated to making healthier food choices this year, the plant-based trend may just be the nutritious inspiration you’ve been looking for.

The best part about the plant-based trend? It can be absolutely delicious. And it doesn’t have to be difficult to make healthier food swaps, or choices. That’s right. Dishes loaded up with fresh beds of lettuce, vegetables, legumes, lentils, whole grains, meat alternatives, and fresh seafood varieties are becoming more innovative, and appetizing than ever. What’s even better is that you can easily spot out healthy options on a menu the next time you’re dining out. When looking over the menu at your favorite restaurant, scoping out vegetarian or dairy free options can be a great place to start, but you can also dig deeper and read the description of menu items carefully, searching for appetizers and entrees made up of whole foods that are bursting with flavor.

New year, healthier me? You decide. Incase you need a head start in planning your weekend dinner plans, we’ve got you covered. No need to compromise eating healthy while dining out for taste.
